Welcome To How To Use Herbs And Oils
Remember in the days of old when people grew there own home remedies for colds, sore throats ect.., for skin care such as acne, dry skin ect... and food additives that are natural not chemically made like most of our food products? Now a days chemicals are in a big part of our lives especially foods products and over the counter medicines, granted most of the medicines are a necessity through a doctor, but what about our daily health and well-being? Well I will be giving you info on Herbs for your everyday well-being. I have a couple of terms for how to prepare some herbs: Decoction Method- A type of infusion prepared by simmering roots, bark and seeds in water. The more vigorous method of extracting softens the woody parts of the plant tissue to release valuable minerals and alkaloids. How To Make A Tincture: 1) Chop 3 cups of herbs fresh or dried, place in a large glass jar w/lid. 2) Pour 1 qt of pure alcohol ( vodka or rum ) over the herb, shake well to ensure the herb are fully submerged. 3) Keep in a cool dark place for 10-14 days, remember to shake daily for 1 min. 4) Strain the mixture through a muslin or linen cloth, discard the herbs, pour the liquid into a sterilized screw-top glass jar or bottle, label it with the date and name of herb. If you are anything like my husband and myself, than take care of your body and your health you only live once, so do it the healthy way.
